August '09

A glimpse of Em's 1st haircut (just trimmed her bangs).
Em riding her bike @ the camp. It doesn't look like she is having fun, but she was. She just hates getting her picture taken. She refuses to look at the camera.

"Come on Momma, RUN!" She kept telling me while we were on the trail. She loves when we say, "mark...get set...go!"

Em and Cam.

Apple picking with auntie Joan and cousin Cami.

At first, Em hated the 4-wheeler until she got on it with dad.
Now she loves going for, "vroom, vroom" rides. She says, "it's fun, it's not scary".
Blue eyes, blue shirt and blue hydrandea's (sp). :)
P.S. Wanted to have a picture of John and Joan's boys and didn't get it. I would have had Greg and Ross added to the mix too...bummer.

Pics from July

Maren and Em out playing on the camp deck and a beautiful rainbow appeared in the sky.

The gorgeous full arc rainbow at the camp. It was clearly visible for at least a 1/2 hour. I think this was the first time I saw a rainbow this big.

Blossom tree

We are not sure what variety of tree this is in our front yard? After it blooms, it makes small red cranberry looking fruit. It was absolutely gorgeous this week. In fact, we even had people walk by our house and take a picture of it. I was wishing I could have captured it with the clear baby blue sky the other day, but I didn't. The little figure in the picture is Em playing in the rain :) Phil did a nice job of adding the rocks around the tree and other areas of our house last weekend.

A rainy day

Today Em and I just hung out inside because of the rain. She surprised me by wanting to "lay down" on the couch at 10:30 this morning to take a nap. This is very unusual for her because she doesn't always take one, and if she does it is not until very late afternoon. It was the first day in many months that she took a 2 hour nap before I had to lay down with her for her to sleep. Usually she goes and goes until I have to eventually have to take a nap too. I enjoyed being home and awake while Em was asleep.
